07 Jun Relationships of Love and Respect ~ Geof’s Monthly Message ~ June 2020
“I’ve heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Because I knew you…..I have been changed for good.”
The “Good” and “Bad” Witches from Wicked
Relationships of Love and Respect
Which witch is Wicked; Glinda or Elphaba from your perspective? Often I feel our culture and society prefer to divide and separate us. When we are separated we have more anxiety, fear, and judgment. Are you your gender, religion, sexual preference, political beliefs, income status, educational level, or are you a universal being of divine Source? The choice is yours to be who you want to be. You are defined by your thoughts beliefs, words, posts, actions, and reactions. I honor and do my best to obey The Law of Unity and Oneness.
I am certain though, that your relationships are the greatest gifts you have in this physical dimension, especially the relationship you have with yourself. How you let others treat you, and how you treat others defines your sense of self-love and self-respect. What you perceive and feel about others, is a mirror for you to reflect on your level of awareness about yourself. Relationships are echoing back to you what you feel about yourself!
Buddha was known to say treat everyone as a noble guest that shows up in your life. We invite each and every person into our life experiences by what we think, believe, and feel. They are your clever teachers, for you to better understand what needs healing within you, and where you are in terms of loving kindness and consideration for yourself.
This is a alarming and restless time, where fearful beings want to divide and separate us. The fearful illusions of the world are demanding to separate us and want us to be anxious and controlled. I guarantee you that you have so much more in common with everyone, no matter their background, if you opened your heart and offered compassion and kindness. I ask myself when I an in disagreement with someone is my ego in control or my spiritual higher self? Am I a lover or a fighter? And if my ego allows me to judge someone else for their beliefs, then I am called to an important inner lesson and more sacred understanding about myself.
As a college biology instructor, I offered the first lesson of the semester on self-love and self-respect by presenting the Four R’s. I encouraged my students to consciously reflect on using these Four R’s to demonstrate their sense of self.
Be responsible.
Be Respectful.
Be reasonable.
Be resourceful.
The choice is yours! My hope and prayers are that your choice is to inspire kindness, encourage unity, and motivate respect. Namaste
